    Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value.     The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

    For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hi guys,

It looks like this forum is kinda dead but I'm reposting a post I made in the Kenwood forum... still looking for some basic advice.

My job has thrown me in the deep end with respect to commercial LMR and I need some advice.

I'm working on a project for a law enforcement agency with Kenwood Nexedge nx-700 mobiles and nx-210 handhelds. The system is for use in areas with no repeater/cellular coverage so I am backhauling audio over a satellite link. Every patrol car will repeat any audio transmitted or received over the satellite link (via a device hooked up to nx-700 db-25 port).

My problem scenario: 10 officers show up on an incident and are out of their vehicles and turn their nx-210's on. One officer transmits on their police freq, but all nx-700 mobiles in the cars will try to 'repeat' the same audio over the satellite link. The agency also wants a simplex/talkaround mode to be available too. which I guess can be done w/ PL tones.

What is the best solution? Can I "pair" an officers nx-210 and his patrol car nx-700's with PL tones? Should I look into "pairing" with fleetsync?
