I am new to the Uniden sds200 and to scanners in general. Located on Cape Cod I really want to listen to Barnstable PD which still runs on an analog system. Most other Towns run on a State Police Trunked system. I have programmed the scanner via the website software with all the frequencies for the Barnstable analog and the state trunked system. The scanner will not pick up the analog but I can get all the departments on the trunked system. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

How did you program the scanner? Did you manually create a Favorites list in Sentinel, or did you create it via appending the agencies from the main database? And, how did you enter the trunked system? Via appending? If manually created, are you using location control on your Favorites list?

When looking in the RR database it says a couple of analog 800MHz frequencies at 5W with no antenna height, so no repeaters. So it will be almost impossible to hear those transmissions. They have one 155MHz frequency but its callsign are unknown so that frequency might have expired and no longer in use. The only repeater, that you should be able to hear, are at 855.2125MHz.

Program your scanner with that frequency in a quick save favorite without any service type or DCS subtone and set it to priority scan.

Or lock your scanner to that frequency by Channel+855.2125+Channel and then enable the recorder Fn+Replay, and let it sit like that whenever you're not listening to the scanner. Then check for any recordings. There's no real reason for the PD to not use the statewide system?

Barnstable Police have one tg on the Massachusetts State Police Smartzone system (labeled as future) and one conventional freq.

Barnstable County Sheriff has a few talk groups on the same system. tg 38736 & 38800.

Db mentions this under Mutual Aid/Intersystem but no clue what/where LOCPS is.

Barnstable County Sheriff also lists these conventional freqs

I used the Sentinel software to program favorites. I have the State Trunked system as one favorites and I have the Barnstable analog system 855.2125 as a separate favorite. When I set lists to scan and both of these favorites are being scanned, I can see the analog channel on the screen, but it never stops on that station and never any transmission. The trunked systems scan fine. I hope I’m making sense, I’m a total newbie. Trying to understand the process.

I do have the 855.2125 programmed in and it shows it’s being scanned but never stops on that station and never any transmission.
