I have loved scannering on and off since i was a kid im 29 now and coming off the longest time "off" in other words i havent messed with scanners for about 4 years (9/11 ish when i was living in Columbia Maryland)
I now live in northcarolina and have the 296D and i programmed a bunch of stuff using the enclosed computer software but it doesnt seem to be working right.
When i set it to scan it finds a channel, it monitors the channel and then "squelches out" for lack of a better word. on that channel when i go through the keypad and try to fix the trunking it asks me all kinds of questions i dont know the answers too.
now i have a Radio Shack Pro-95 maybe (the model before 96) and ya know if you hit scan and trunk it just goes and does its thing. how can i get the 296 to do the same thing?
issue 2...
the manual for 296d says that i can change the audio quality on the APCO 25 transmissions by pressing 9 and then setting something? Where do i do this?
i gotta do this because my Digital transmissions sound like charlie browns teacher right now
all help appreciated greatly
