Help with BCT15 Backlight Display

Hello All,
I just got my BCT15 and its awesome.. I have several systems in it and it works easily with the ARC15 software.

Only Problem: When I first was using the background display (amber/orange) worked well....and then it just stopped working...thought it timed out. But now I can't get the display background to come back on. Maybe I turned it off somehow?? Not sure..I want it to come on and stay on..

Any suggestions of what to try?

My PRO-433 (made by Uniden) has the same type of light. It's controlled by the M-LOCK/DM key. That turns it Hi, Lo and OFF.

In the Menu--Settings--Set Backlight, is it set to Auto? or Manual? If it's Manual you can cycle through the options in there to find the setting you want, you can also turn it off in there too.

After talking with Uniden support it is defective and has been sent back..

I had the exact same problem with the first BCD996T I received, when they first came out. I had the radio replaced the next day with a brand new one from my local dealer.

BCT15 BAcklight Still Not Working!!

After two repairs by Uniden, the backlight still doesn't work! When I received the unit back form Undiden, it turned on then after about 5 minutes off it went, never to light up again.

This is very frustrating. I have to get in touch with them yet again and demand a replacement radio. Not impressed with their repairs.

They also need to fix the recording feature in the next firmware update. I had some talkgroups that would not record even if the group AND the TGID's were set to record. The fix was to delete the groups and create new ones.
