Medic 13 / 14 I never heard of at Rahway hospital, it had always been Medic 9 & 10 for many many years. Maybe they just changed number?? I'm not sure, I'll keep an eye and ear out.
As for Medic-44, Yes Trinitas Hospital Elizabeth, NJ medic unit. In use for years now. Goes to Roselle also when Monoc 251 is not avail.

Medic-44 confirmed. They were dispatched an hour ago to a woman who jumped out a 3rd floor window, and are now on an MV accident with entrapment. All in Elizabeth.
Sorry for 2nd reply, I thought I used to be able to edit my post to include this but don't see the button to do that.
See now I see an edit button for this post I made, but the one I made before this still has no edit button, weird.

Yeah, I dunno. I ride EMS and the other night at Rahway, Medic 10 was out of quarters. But parked right in a row in the normal location by the ER doors in a row were RWJ trucks numbered, "Medic 9, Medic 11, Medic 13, Medic 14".

Speaking of Trinitas MICU btw...where is their base in Elizabeth now?? Been a while since they moved off Morris Avenue, and I know they're not at EMS-5/EMS-8 quarters on Elizabeth Avenue and aren't out of either E-town campus.

Stop mentioning Morris Avenue and Elizabeth Avenue, I'm getting home sick. :D

Haha. You kidding? I miss Morris Avenue! Spent hours in there during my EMT certs and core 13. Not to mention my first exam. Medics would teach us tips and tricks that still come in handy. :D Place is just vacant now.

Question remains now, where are they based presently?

Reviving an old topic here, but can someone fill in the blanks as to the base for these MICU Units in North Jersey?

Medic 13 (RWJ...was parked at Rahway Hospital tonight)
Medic 14 (RWJ...was parked at Rahway Hospital tonight)

My guess is that they are spare trucks not normally assigned and staffed that are used as extras during bad weather or special events. Since 11 and 12 are Atlantic/Morristown units, they used the next two numbers available.

Most projects have extra trucks to use if the primary one is out of service for maintenance and such. A lot have a spare for each primary unit. When I was a dispatcher at MICCOM before they switched to the current 3 digit unit ID from ALS1,3,4, etc, there were spots where an extra truck could be inserted into the series, others needed to be added to the end.

I hope that answers your question.

That would make some sense. That would mean there are at least 4 spares then, as RWJ Medic 11 and 12 trucks are here right now also.

Morristown? I thought Medic 3 and Medic 6 were Atlantic-Morristown.

Those are just the truck numbers so they keep track. If rahway medics were using Medic-13, they would still be on cencom as Medic 9 or 10

and Ed-N2QBZ means Atlantic Medic 11 and 12 are morristown units , not the RWJ Med 11 and 12.

Medic 3 is chatham and medic 6 is East Hanover , however when 11 and 12 are out they re-post 3 and 6 as neccessary

Right, I know he meant AHS not RWJ. However I thought they were 3 and 6. Thanks for the clarification on that. And I kind of figured that the RWJ spares were just numbered that after we drew Medic 9 today and they showed up driving "Medic 12" and later in the day were rolling in 13.

Medic 2 is EHT, out of ARMC EMS Office. 24/7 staffing. Primary job is SCT/CCT.

Medic 6 in AC, out of ARMC-City Div ER, with M1, full time 24/7.

Medic 8, last I know was out of a house on Shore Rd, full time 24/7.
Medic 9, Cape May Courthouse, 24/7
Medic 10 has been moved to Northfield FD, full time 24/7
Medic 11 is Special Ops/Supervisor as needed.

If 17 is on 50 in UT, dollars to pesos it is out of Seaville FD. We used to go there as a middle ground when things were busy or we needed an additional unit up for peak call volume.

Medic 13 (RWJ...was parked at Rahway Hospital tonight)
Medic 14 (RWJ...was parked at Rahway Hospital tonight)
Medic 44 (Trinitas 4th Unit)?

Also MONOC 412 was out again tonight subbing for 251 fwiw.

Im pretty sure 44 is the night time designation for either 41 42 or 43...I dont think its actually a 4th unit, but a way for dispatch to be less confused at shift change.

Still trying to figure out where Trinitas MICU is now quartered. Why? Morbid curiosity. Haven't drawn one of their crews, nor had an appropriate moment to ask them in a long while so haven't gotten to ask.

Actually, I found out Medic 15 is on Tuckahoe Rd now, near UTRS.
