Help with Proscan and programming

I am a Proscan user and I have a subscription to RR database.
I live in Toledo Ohio and I have a BCD 996T
I am looking for Lucas and Wood counties. I thought everything was on Ohio Marc's P25.
I can hear some Toledo, but no Oregon, Walbridge and Northwood Ohio stations.
Can someone please guide me through programming steps to get this programmed correctly?

I'm nowhere near your area, so all I can do is offer suggestions based on what I see in the database. Looking at Lucas & Wood Counties in the database, as well as Toledo, they are listed as using this system, Northwest Ohio Regional, instead of the statewide MARCS system., That includes the county agencies, as well as most, if not all, of the smaller towns. I also see that the Lucas County site on that system is noted as Simulcast. Simulcast can cause issues for most scanners in receiving the system successfully, the exceptions being Uniden's SDS series scanners.. This Wiki page discusses the problems involved as well as some suggestions that might help in some cases. Simulcast problems are very location specific. If you are in a location where signals from most of the transmit sites are impeded by hills, or say a cluster of taller buildings, you might not have an issue. At times, the specific location of your scanner, and its antenna in your house, can be a gane changer. Something in the house, like a file cabinet, or perhaps a refrigerator on the other side of the wall, can block conflicting signals and allow reception. There have been cases posted in the forums where moving the scanner as little as a couple feet in one direction or another makes a huge difference in reception.

I also see notes in the database that for Wood County, the Sheriff's department moved to using DMR instead of the trunked system. If that is still current, your 996T is not capable of receiving DMR signals.

ProScan can import the trunked system being used, and then you would get a better idea of how well you can monitor the counties, cities, and agencies of interest to you.

Just a side note a lot of what is listed there is seldom to never used.

You will find Oregon under Unified Law SE. Northwood and Walbridge have their own TGs. This is a heavily simulcast system. Your 996t will struggle to receive this system. I have a 996T that I bought when they first came out. I could never get it to decode properly. I moved out of Toledo in 2018. It receives somewhat better where I live now. But I have four towers equal distance from my house. So it still struggles. I have and SDS200 and a Unication G4 that work flawlessly on this system.

Yes use your ProScan software and the RR database. I’ve had my 996T programmed for quite a while. But I used FreeScan software which will not work with DMR. As heigtx stated above the 996T is not capable of decoding DMR.This software has been abandoned and is no longer supported. Below is a list of TGs that are active on NWORPSS.

You want to import from the RRDB one system at a time. After that, go through all the parameters such as system, group, & channel names, SQK's, etc. to make sure they are to your liking then upload everything to the scanner.

That's still correct. I'm not super familiar with who's on what system, but generally Toledo suburb=NWORPSS, and anything else Wood co is MARCS, except the SO on DMR. There is a VHF DMR to VHF analog patch, but I think the database's PL tone may be incorrect. I'll have to look at what I have.
