Hi All,
I am researching and writing a book about the Galleria Fire. The purpose of the book is not to excoriate the emergency services that responded, nor is it to exculpate Piggee for his actions. The story pretty much stands on its own without trying to crucify or otherwise defend any given individuals actions.
I’ve been up to Roseville once already and will likely be heading up again in another week or so. The reason I am posting is that I am hoping one of you might have any actual recordings of the emergency services broadcasts from that day. I have the transcripts that are commonly available, and they are probative, but they do not contain ancillary or Tactical channels, and they are in the end just transcripts. If the narrative is going to be accurate I need all possible detail, and the actual radio transmissions are a huge part of the real time narrative that I am trying to write.
If you have any recordings or are otherwise willing to help I would greatly appreciate it if you would get in touch with me. If you know of anywhere that I can find these recordings, (Other than the City- they do not seem to be particularly interested in sharing at this point…) I would greatly appreciate your letting me know.
I'm also very interested in meeting with any Fire Department or Police personnel that were actually at the scene. (Yes, I understand the magnitude of this particular wish…) Any such meeting can be completely off the record and anonymous if necessary. (And would be protected by California's Shield Law.)
My email is david@wegetinfotech.com and if you want to speak to me on my cell it is 650-814-0037. Any communication will be treated with the utmost care and attention to privacy.
Many thanks in advance for your patience and for reading this post.
Best,
dce
