help with tps and bearcat

Hello i am fairly new to this as my brother left me a scanner! how do i program my bearcat trunktracker III to pick up toronto police 32 division or 33 !

i am very basic and all i know how to do so far is enter direct channels, save and scan, but i pick up a whole bunch of different broadcasts?

i am a total noob but i would like to get into this some how!

help please

We would need to know what model of scanner you have, I'm guessing if it is a Bearcat trunktracker III
that it may be a BC780XLT.

your programming your scanner in conventional mode (just entering the frequencies you hear everything as you are now).

you need to program it in TRUNK mode, so frequencies + TALKGROUP ID

untill we know the model it maybe difficult to help.
also search for the manual on google (almost all manuals for uniden scanenrs are free and found on google).

if its a newer model DMA scanner like the 246T (2006 area or newer) try freescan www.scannow,org

also have a look at the link below.. its meant for a digital for fleetnet/opp but the basics can be applied to your analog scanner IF its one of the scanners listed just change the frequencies to 800 (no need to enter bandplan, just MOTOROLA 800mhz + the frequencies + the talkgroups).

hey thanks for the link on programming my scanner!

i have done everything up too
Scroll to Set Modulation and press "E". Scroll to NFM and press "E".

i dont that this option?

you need to set the bank to Motorola 800 band plan first then enter the freqs then create the talkgroups. Maybe someone has a TFD file they can send you that you can edit up for the TGs you want.
