I am in the UK but due to limitations with UK distributed scanners I purchased a Uniden BR330T scanner. The problem I have is that my searches don’t seem to bring much up and yet if I can find the frequencies from databases and manually put them in everything is ok.
I believe I may have to alter the step sizes and modulation for the bands to those used in the UK. Although the BR330T has an auto feature I think this must be set for USA step sizes as I have tried auto on the first frequency range and the band doesn’t bring much up. If I change the step size to 6.5 I get a lot more hits. Obviously it would be a long job going through every frequency with every step size. Does anybody know what the UK step size is and modulation for the frequency bands that my scanner supports. I suppose I need a reply from someone with a UK scanner manual
I know for instance that the Air band 108.00-136.9875 is a step size of 12.5/8.33 for the UK.

These are the bands with The United States step sizes

Maybe the 330 will be available in the UK soon with the correct bandplan. The UBCD396T is now available in Australia. The BC250D is available as the UBC3300XLT.

Here is a link with some information:http://ukspec.tripod.com/spectrum.html

Thanks for your reply. I do have this link but couldn't find anythng in laymans terms that describes the step size.
The problem is that they cut down the UK versions and take off close call and reduce the service bands. Uniden don't have any service manuals for UK UBC models on their sight only Australia and I would think their step sizes will be different to ours as they are at the other side of the world.
The UK seems to be treated as a third world country BY Uniden. That will be because of the restrictions put on the scanners by our third class government. Too busy giving all our money to Europe and the French farmers.
I went into our local scanner store the other day and they only stock three scanners and the salesman new nothing about them. That is Radioshack.
