Can I program nothing but Tulsa Fire in my Pro-94, and if so what's the logical order for the freqs? Anyone know where a Pro 94 Tutorial is as well, I've been trying for an hour now and I keep getting data and other TG's I dont want such as TPD and TCSO. Any help would be great!!! Thanks!

Tulsa's system does not reguire logical order programming of freq's to run the system. If your getting the data channel when scanning you have not programmed the system in the correct mode. You need to program the freq's as Motorola type II 800 trunked, not as conventional. Then you can program only TFD ID's and only hear TFD ID's until you go into a search mode.

If you need a quick set up that will get the basics (including all FD), you should be able to take it back to Radio Shack and ask them to load their standard preprogramed block for the Tulsa area. They should do it for free.

This is a "a" model it doesnt have the PC/IF plug on the side, so I'll have to keypad program it as far as I know.

I see that you're fairly new here (10 posts). Don't give up out of frustration. We're glad to help, just be sure and ask.

I had one of those 94s for a short time, I think about 4 years ago, but got rid of it. I can't remember why. Anyway, keep asking the questions, and we'll continue to help :)

I actually prefer programming manually.... It may take alot longer, but I find it gives me a better feel of where everything is stored and how to get to it quicker (especially while traveling down 244 at 65 mph!)

Good luck Firemedic, BTW how are things over in Sperry? :)

Yes, Radio Shack preprogramming is definitely just a solution for a quick easy start. I recently picked up a new 97 on sale and had it preprogrammed. Stick-o programming job. But I did notice it had plenty of fire in there. Can't even begin to fathom the logic of the person who built the model for that program.

But Mr. Smith is right, no one's programing will be as good as your programing. It's a very personal thing. Just don't let Mrs. FireMedic catch you spending too much time alone with it. I hear manual programming can make you go blind.

The 94 Im programming isnt actually for me, the 94 I own, I bought programmed already. This scanner is actually for a skiatook volunteer firefighter that I work with full time. He works for EMSA part time as well and wants it to monitor tulsa fire while he's working and at home. How much do you think someone would charge to program just tulsa fire in this thing, because Im not really understanding how to do it. Things in Sperry are fine as far as I know. They got a new chief and I havent really heard anything else. I stopped volunteering there last year after problems with the past chief.

Do Radio shack scanners have a clone option? if you have a cable, maybe you could just clone the data from your Pro94 to his.

I remember you saying that awhile back you left Sperry FD.... who is the new chief over there now?
