WS1040: HELP

Im just going crazy with this scanner. I have had it almost a month and cant do anything. The PSRdit500 company has tried to help me. Finally I was able to get the frequencies in the computer but now I lost the app inside the scanner. I cant load even manual frequencies. UGH!!! Any suggestions???? I tried putting the driver in although thats not working for me either!

Have you considered professional programming?

Im going to try and figure out how to install the program back into the scanner. Then possibly just send it to be professionally programed.

I have a WS1040 and ARC500PRO software. What systems are you trying to program? What is your location? I would be happy to attempt to assist you for FREE. I can build a program file and send it to you if you are interested.

A guy from the other company has tried to help and was SUPER patient. He even tried to help me download the app that I deleted in the scanner. Lol. I feel bad for the guy- Im embarassed to say I couldnt even do that!
If you would like to try and help- I greatly appreciate it. Im not great at computers either- I have a HP laptop. When I had plugged in the scanner it didnt recognize the scanner. i heard a noise like it recognize it but nothing pops up on my screen. My daughter tried helping me today and we didnt have too much luck with it. If you could guide me I would definitely try to follow the instructions..lol

I live in Illinois. Im trying to listen to Kendall county police/ etc.
I also go to Lee County often and wanted to listen to that frequency when Im out that way

If we can get the radio back to factory defaults, I would suggest going to Butel website and downloading the ARC500. I'm not sure if you can get it on a free trial or not. If you can, download it to your computer. It appears that all of the agencies/frequencies you are wanting to monitor are conventional. Let me know if that is correct.

From the display showing on his scanner, looks like the firmware has been wiped.... unlikely re-initializing to factory defaults would be successful.

Save the attached zipped file to your computer and extract. Connect your scanner to your computer and turn on. Run the extracted program. It will reload the firmware.

The pages dont explain what to do when the scanner is wiped clean with no scanner app. Its empty from what was programed from the factory
