Frequencies
Hey wrr20891, Once in a while I listen in on State Highway Departments frequencies. Most of the time its hardly active and when it is its mostly about signs being down or debris being on the highway. Now in winter time during snow/ice it picks up a bit. The highway police use these frequencies too but here lately have not due to the AWIN system. They have district maps and I think the State Highway Department is district 6 and the highway police are district 1.
Here is what I have gathered for the following frequencies.
151.010-131.8 PL Too much static and could not pick up what locations they were at.
151.055-114.8 PL Mostly around Clark, Montgomery, and Pike county areas.
151.055-141.3 PL Faulkner and Pope counties. They also made reference to Alpine repeater in Clark Co.
151.070-123.0 PL Pulaski and Saline Counties.
151.085-114.8 PL Too much static, didn't hear much.
151.085-151.4 PL Too much static, didn't hear much.
151.100-141.3 PL Hempstead and Sevier counties.
151.115-114DPL Highway police in Garland Co. May not be used anymore since AWIN is available.
151.130-151.4 PL Highway Police Not sure which district. Still in use currently with AWIN.
156.105-CSQ This is the Highway Dept for Garland Co. Portables only, need to be close by to hear anything.
156.135-132 DPL Highway police, unknown where, may not be in use anymore due to AWIN.
As far as I can tell I have not heard Garland Co on any of these frequencies other then 156.105 and 151.115.
They use portables so you need to be within a mile or two to hear them. They probably have these other frequencies/channels programmed in their radios too but rarely use them. This is the best time to listen in on these frequencies since its winter time and they are putting salt on roadways/bridges.
Also the South Central Arkansas Transportation Dept also uses a few of these frequencies.
I think it transports disabled passengers on a bus.
