Unfortunately they are all over the place.
True, and they have been for years. The bands 'ain't what they used to be'. It seems like China Radio and religious/talk programming dominates the dial. RNZI and a handful of others are the few remaining gems.

Going through the HF Bands to see how the propagation is tonight and I can say it's terrible again.
SdrPlay RSPdx receiver, SDRUNO software
SDRConsole Software,
100 feet of wire facing East and West out on my 4 floor balcony
Listening from Fort Erie Ontario Canada

Got up to pee at 4 this morning. Decided to stay up and see what the HF bands were doing. Not very well. I get better signals around 8 to 8:30 pm.

Wasn't to bad last night. Haven't heard anything on 6.000 Mhz in awhile but last night around 8:45 pm, it was booming. Used to be voice of cuba. Not sure what it was as it was spanish speaking. Picked up some faint signals that faded in and out too. Am hoping my new antenna does better when I get it set up.

Things aren‘t bad at all here in WI tonite. Caught New Zealand at 17675 kHz, weak but definitely there. Radio China came in a bit weak but definitely there at 11820 kHz. Then 10 minute later on the same frequency Radio Romania was booming. CFRX Toronto at 6070 was there. Also 700 AM, a clear channel MW station from Cincinnati. It’s a 50,000 watt boomer, but I don‘t get it here all that often.

Some great stations logged here!

700 AM is WLW, one of the pioneer broadcasters which was founded by Powel Crosley Jr of the Crosley Radio Corp. It's been on the air since 1922. In the 1930's, WLW experimented with a 500,000 watt transmitter on the AM broadcast band.

At 00:14z 19:14 local, X-ray flux is C1.59 and slowly declining and  Kp at 0+, I'm looking for some decent signals with low noise tonight. Look for CME impact Wednesday-ish to bring noisier conditions, possibly with a geomagnetic storm alert.

RNZI on 7425 and 7440 have been nice in the early morning hours the past few days. 17675 is usually weak until close to frequency change.

WRMI 9455 coming in clear with some classic R&B.

Good DXing!

If you have a iPhone, and you’re using your speaker to listen, there is a translation app that you can use to see what foreigners are saying. Works pretty good. Not sure if android has one but probably does have one. I’ve used it and I find it actually works pretty well
I’ve tried that and it also works pretty good for me
