Highlands Ranch Fire | 5280FIRE
06/24 ~ At 01:22 Littleton Fire Communications alerted units in the 1st Battalion to a confirmed structure fire at Wildcat Reserve Parkway & South Broadway in Highlands Ranch. Douglas County Sheriff arrived at 10448 Marigold Court, found flames showing and began evacuating neighboring homes. While enroute, Squrt 18 reported fire in the air from a distance. Squrt 18 arrived first due, established a water supply on the alpha side and began exposure protection on the bravo side. Squrt 12 pulled a line to the delta side and began exposure protection there. All occupants were confirmed out of the homes and command ordered an extra Engine & Truck. Burning material was carried in the plume across Wildcat and started several small brush fires, prompting a request for a Brush Truck. Engine 40 established a water supply on the charlie side and advanced two lines for exterior attack while Engine 16 assisted with the bravo exposure. Engines 15 & 17 made entry through the alpha side of the main structure and started interior fire attack. SAM 10 assumed Safety Officer and Battalion 34 took the charlie division. The fire was knocked down within 30 minutes with only minor extension to the bravo exposure. Crews remained on scene chasing fire in the attic and walls for a couple hours. No injuries were reported and an investigator was called to the scene.
