I hear them all the time when I travel through there. The last time I went through there was this past Thursday and Sunday and they were active. You may be listening to a tower that they are not affiliated on by chance

Thanks for the reply. Listening on Proctorville and Lumberton UNCTV towers, but not hearing any activity, but not able to monitor full time. Will give it some more time, and thanks again !

What scanner are you using? Some scanners do not follow patches properly so if B7 is patched to B2 and B2 is the primary TG in the patch, your scanner may not ever see B7 as active. Listen for the other Troop B TGs and see if you hear any relevant traffic on those and that may answer your question. As others have said, Robeson isn't super busy either so depending on who is working where in the county, you may not have any affiliations pulling traffic to the tower you're monitoring.

Using a BCD996P2. A friend of mine also using that model scanner and working fine. On the scanner not receiving, getting a message on the screen "Finding CTRL Chan" for that service. Must be some kind of programming issue, but used same software and data for other scanner that picks up fine. Will start over re-programming and see if that solves the issue.

From Fayetteville, the Lumberton site would be the best one to use. Proctorville is most likely out of range. Check your squelch setting. It normally should be at 2. Try opening the squelch while monitoring only the VIPER system with just the Lumberton site. With the same programming and seeing the Finding CtrlChan message, you have a signal problem. Try swapping antennas between the 2 scanners.
