I have a Uniden SDS100 connected to a computer, but it is not History Logging.

I found these tips, but I still haven't had any success.

Under Options, I did verify that logging to the history text file or grid display is explicitly turned on.

The computer and scanner are connected, but it just isn't logging.

What shall I try next?

When I shutdown ProScan and use ARC536PRO, it logs fine, so they are communicating.

If ProScan is not writing to your history log, check that the history grid logging option is enabled in Options > Logging > History Grid, ensure your serial/USB connection and scanner type are actively communicating, and verify your designated file save paths in the ProScan Software configuration.

Common Fixes
    • Enable Logging Setting: Go to Options -> Logging -> History Grid and verify that logging to the history text file or grid display is explicitly turned on.
    • Check Serial/Comm Connection: Confirm that your scanner is fully connected, the correct COM port is selected at the bottom of the logging window, and data is actively refreshing on the virtual display.
    • Verify File Paths: Check Options -> History Log Location to ensure the target destination folder exists, is writable, and isn't blocked by Windows permissions.
    • Power Cycle Hardware: Turn your scanner off and on again, and ensure it is properly recognized in serial/PC control mode.

I have an SDS100 and have no issues with history logging. Can you confirm you're running the latest Proscan version (24.11 as of this post). Is it not logging under the History Logging tab, Recorder tab or both? Can you confirm your settings match mine?

Yes, I am on ProScan Version 24.11.

It is not logging under the History Logging tab.

My settings match yours.

I also saw a message LOW USB BUS VOLTAGE.

I tried a different cable, but the same results.

I have also tried other USB ports, too.

What windows version are you using and can you do a test and change the location of the history file to be the same where ARC536 stores its history, just to check that it isn't some kind of access error to the folder you have initially chosen for the history files, or right click on the ProScan file and run as administrator to check if it is a user permission problem.

It shouldn't be an access error as the logging is done in memory. But anything is worth a try.

@JASII,
Do you see the display border change color when there's activity?
The scanner is in search mode. Does it log when scanning the full database or favorites lists?
Can you power cycle the scanner if you didn't already just incase the scanner decided not to send the activity flag?
Are you using the latest scanner firmware?

The display border does not change color when their is activity.

I have power cycled a number of times.

I cropped it a bit.
The problem looks like the PWR command. Yours shows PWR,-999. I have -63. I'm using an older version firmware Main: Version 1.23.20, Sub :Version 1.03.15. In a few days, I'll update my firmware and see what the PWR shows and take it from there.
