Home Patrol 1 is suddenly malfunctioning, cycling on when power button held, appears to be normal start-up, gets as far as loading favorites list, then very briefly displays normal screen when scanning. Then the unit goes off, and immediately repeats the entire power on process. The cycling will continue until I hold the power button to turn it off. This happens both with battery power and with A/C power. While turned off but A/C power plugged in, it started beeping and displaying "Charge battery...yes or no", hit "No", then in just a few seconds, same thing again, over and over. Any thoughts about what is failing? Would a new software install possibly help, or is this definitely a hardware issue? Repairable? Thanks. JC

First thing to suspect is the SD card. Reformat the current card or replace it. Then use the “clear user data” function in Sentinel and see if it functions properly then.

I’ll try that tonight or Friday and report results. Thanks
If that does not work, you can try a new SD card if you have one (be sure to clear user data) and if that does not work, it would likely be a repair situation

None of the A/C power cords from other Uniden scanners would fit the HP-1, but I found a Grundig that worked. The issue was the original power cord from Uniden. Just ordered another, but this is a good excuse to update Sentinel and scanner firmware. Thanks to all for help.
