I know this is an old question, but I just purchased a Home Patrol 2 and poured thru old forum discussions on a gps antenna set up.
I have a 350 Nuvi Garmin I would like to use, but all the serial/data cable part numbers listed in the threads go nowhere. I understand they are older links, but I am still interested in using the Nuvi if possible. I know of the Uniden setup but I'd like to think there is a less bulky solution. Thanks for any help.

It's never going to work. You need a GPS that can output NMEA sentences. (via Serial interface). None of the Garmin Auto GPS do.
Their marine and outdoor style (hiking , etc) will.

Thank you, I was incorrect, and it was a hiking gps that the article talked about. Just curious if the cable to connect to my hp2 is available or has to be made up. Thanks
