Is the registration button still click-able? Can yo get into the advanced features?

What was the message shown after you entered it?

If you can still press the Register Advanced button, it didn't accept the key. Are you sure you entered it correctly? (with dashes where applicable)

same failure for me

Just purchased my key for my HP-2 Extreme Upgrade tonight. After I input the key it displays: Processing...Please Wait for a bit then beeps and goes back to Register Advanced options being the only one still highlighted.

I am including the dashes between the numbers sets. The key was emailed to me by uniden tonight. Also it matches the one in MyUniden. I am wondering if someone screwed up the key generator. I have checked and rechecked and entered several times.

I suspect UPMan might chime in if there is an issue with the "key generator" (for lack of a better term).

Until then - same question: Are you sure you're entering the key exactly as it was received (including dashes were applicable)?

That's right. You are pressing the dash key and not the period, right?

Although with two of you having the same issue, I'm wondering if the key generation broke.

I returned to the Advanced menu and checked everything again. It will not even accept period or any other characters accept numbers and the hyphen. I put in a support email to Uniden. Hopefully they can tell me what I am doing wrong etc.

Are you sure you are not trying to use the underline key instead of the hyphen (dash) key?

The hyphen key is just below the 7/8 keys in the 2nd row.

I don't have the HP1 or HP2... But don't you have to register the scanner before you can get a key... The reason I say this is don't YOU have to enter the scanner serial number when registering it.
Because I would assume the key is generated from your serial number so as to only unlock that radio.
Is it possible that you may have mistyped your serial number?

Typed mine the same way as above , and serial number is correct, even tried a restart , no go for me , getting annoyed about throwing 50 bux in the trash. ..

I registered. Downloaded latest software. Installed software. Updated everything it said to update before I purchased the Upgrade. Everything the instructions said to do. As for selecting the underline instead of the hyphen, as I stated before I can not select anything but the numbers and the hyphen. Everything else is grayed out. Hope to get a solution soon.

Your $50 is not trashed. There is simply a glitch somewhere. Have patience.

I experienced the same issue yesterday afternoon. Received the key and entered it and it would not accept. I sent a email to Uniden customer service.
