June 25, 2010 At 1523 hours, the Honey Brook Fire Company, the Martins Corner Fire Company (34), and Ladder 69 (Twin Valley Fire Company) were alerted for a reported barn fire at 1369 Beaver Dam Road in Honey Brook Township. The call to 911 from Traffic 33 who was returning from an earlier call reported visible fire from a large barn.
Chief 33 (Messner) arrived and confirmed fire showing from a large dairy barn and requested 5 more tankers.
Engine 33-1 (Klinger) arrived and dropped a supply line up the drive way and stretched 3 1.75 hand lines to try to make a stop to the fire before the fire reached the second large barn.
Engine 34-5 and Engine 69-5 arrived and supplied Engine 33-1.
Ladder 69 arrived and set up to the roof of the middle barn.
Engine 33-5 arrived established the water supply at the end of the driveway along Beaver Dam Road.
Additional arriving units staged along the road and sent their crews into the scene.
The first in crew made a great stop to the fire and prevented it from getting into the second large barn.
The incident was placed under control at 1630 hours.
After the Chester County Fire Marshals investigated the crews finished overhaul
The final units were clear of the scene at 1815 hours.
Lancaster County Tanker 3-6 (Goodville) transferred to Station 33 during the incident.
