771.181250 MHz also shows up with this ID. Active fires currently if anyone can run Unitrunker on it. PD still seems encrypted. Something is anyway. Kind of a drive by and catch what I can moment for me right now and don't have everything I need to fully document.

It appears that you are receiving other systems and not Hood County.

The top screen shot 771.68125 NAC 440 appears to be part of Johnson County simulcast site 1-004 of FWRRS.
That site has 10 licensed frequencies but only 8 are in the database and 771.68125 is one of the missing.

The bottom screen shot 771.73125 NAC 370 appears to be part of Tarrant County site 1-23 of Dallas/NCTCOG.

Probably so much going on with this fire situation it's hard to tell who is who out here is the issue. Definitely a ton of mutual aid going on then from all sides and even jumping radio systems to interop channels. These fires went from nothing to imminent destruction and shutting the highway behind me in about five minutes flat today.

Are the fire departments in Hood County using the 700mhz system? I heard some fire units referring to Fire 700TAC, do you know what frequency this is?

Pecan Plantation is licensed for a 700MHz frequency.

I'm rarely in range of Hood County except when visiting a friend who lives in Stephens County. I have the licensed 700 MHz frequencies for Hood County, Granbury, and Pecan programmed. On my last trip a couple of weeks ago, but did not hear any activity on them, except for the 700MHz "Sheriff Secure" channel, which is encrypted.

Maybe they were referring to one of the frequencies on this page in the wiki:

Or this U.S. Interop page:

I'm going to have to get back up here and get this figured out because there's definitely a fire department system that's on 700 Mhz and they went over to it. There's a channel called Tolar Tac 2 that was in use I never found that everyone was supposed to go to when the big fire was first breaking out.

These conventional channels? Seems odd. Was the sheriff's system using phase 1? Any idea what drove the choice for 700mhz? Probably Harris. I know for this big fire over the weekend they requested mutual aid from Parker county and Palo Pinto county and obviously Erath county. Erath and Palo Pinto use VHF high band analog and Parker county is primarily VHF P25. So as far as interop, I'm not sure the 700 national interop frequencies would be of much use for communicating with any of their neighboring counties.

After seeing 700MHz licenses pop up for Granbury & Hood County, I spent some time wading through city council & county commissioner court meeting minutes. Hood County approved purchases of radios and equipment from Harris back on 12/14.

Taking a quick peek again at Granbury city council minutes, I see that they are projecting the proposed new system, Granbury Regional Radio Network (GRRN) to be operable by the fall of this year (2022).

While I don't have the links handy at the moment, previous discussions of Granbury city council included comments that 'other agencies had expressed interest in joining the new system'. (This was before Hood County officially indicated they were joining, and before the county received licenses for 3 sites (in addition to the two Granbury had already initiated licensing). Since one of the sites on the county's license is in Somervell County (near Glen Rose), that raises a question of whether that is for better coverage, or an indication that Somervell may be one of the 'interested parties' in joining the system. A quick browse of Somervell County records, so far, does not indicate a change is imminent.

That's Chalk Mountain. They probably put a site there for coverage.
