Hoover PD Unit Numbers?

I occasionally visit and work in Hoover. I have unit numbers from a few years ago logged in the 500s. Did Hoover PD re-number? Hearing PD units in the 300s today?

Or can anyone explain their numbering system for an outsider?

pretty sure they go by shifts. so 300-days, 400-eve-,500 night. but dont hold me to that
