It was down for about two hours... I don't know where they migrated to, but just before 2AM I heard dispatchers informing FD units that they should be back on the their regular channels.

Hmm, interesting. I'd assume they would be on VHF if they didn't want to use the system while it's in failsoft (or if the system was unable to even function in failsoft, for that matter). Most/all the individual FD's and PD's are still licensed for their VHF frequencies, and those should be listed in the DB.

I haven't noted any other changes today when listening, so I don't know if the disruption was related to some sort of changes at the controllers or towers, or simply just an outage.

New HCFR TGID's

To definitively answer your questions about the new HCFR TGID's, here is a complete list of the new ID's which will be used by Horry County Fire Rescue. They are doing a transition at the moment so both new and old ID's are being used. When the change-over is complete in the near future, the old ID's will be removed.

48023 HCFR Dispatch
48048 HCFR Dispatch 2
48080 HCFR Tac 1
48112 HCFR Tac 2
48144 HCFR Tac 3
48176 HCFR Tac 4
48208 HCFR Tac 5
48240 HCFR Tac 6
48272 HCFR Tac 7
48304 HCFR Tac 8
48336 HCFR Tac 9
48368 HCFR Tac 10
48400 HCFR Tac 11

I don't believe the first one is correct. 48023 isn't a valid talkgroup, but is 48016 + 7 (Multi-select). I think it should be 48016, which matches what is currently list in RRDB.

New HCFR TGID's

Frank,

You are right! That was the only channel I took off air as it is used so much. I went back to the radio and keyed it and it is indeed 48016. I did key the other channel TGID's so I know they are right.

That's co-operation!!! Thank you for bringing it to my attention so I could confirm that.

Excellent! Thanks for confirming those, dridley. Can you advise what the 48048 talkgroup is being used for, exactly? I've never known HCFR to use more than one talkgroup for dispatch.

Also, are you aware of the purpose of switching to the new talkgroups? Potentially related to the rumored switch to digital coming?

yes there will be more changes
and How about ATLANTIC BEACH the talk groups arent active because there is no AB police
when they had a PD there were only 4-6 of them the last 4 were let go 3 weeks ago As i submitted but was rejected - with an average of 4 officers, the data base lists enough tg's for each one to have his own and still not talk to anyone?? maube list it for future JUST like Bieicliff Acres with one officer i dont see how he can talk to himself and get an answer - hes one County north if or when he works.....

I have Trunk88 running, but it's only getting about 25% or so decode, with a standard audio cable from the headset jack, while the scanner's getting 99%. Unitrunker is showing the health at "2" and after leaving it on for a couple hours, it only showed one active talkgroup.
You'll get better results with discriminator audio.

Since the VHF radios were removed a long time ago why would you think they went to VHF?

They have other places to go on 800mhz.
