NM -- Just an exercise -- Hostage/barricade situation

There's some disturbing traffic on Montgomery county's trunked P-TAC1. it sounds like they might have a barricade or a hostage situation.

anyone hear this get started ? is is an exercise ?

EDIT: never mind, it's just an exercise.

Well, how did we sound??

mostly bored ;)

but they sure did throw it all at y'all. had a screaming pregnant woman, former hrt military bad guy with a rifle, pistol, knife and a scanner listening in, changing clothes with the hostages, trip wired booby traps and the bad guy tying himself to a hostage with rope.

I'm glad it was just an exercise.

there at the end some of the guys clearing the rooms started to sound tired and maybe a little cranky with the exercise controllers, but everyone maintained a high level of professionalism throughout.

Yeah, there was no ventilation, and it was HOT in there, plus 40 pounds of gear and holding up an 8 pound rifle for 3 hours...you tend to get a little tired. All in all, it was a good exercise though, it got everyone working together (as I'm sure you heard on the radio). But, we resolved it successfully (I was the guy that shot the bad guy).

aye, outstanding job by all. after a while i was wondering what else the exercise people were going to add on, they've got some creative ideas for getting the max bang for the buck on training.

BTW: if i got the city right, it was the guy who put "IT Solutions" and "Room 209" over the air that led me to google up an address.
