What does it mean when a tower starts broadcasting that its hot? Should you
run for cover, poor cold water on it, or pull the plug? I heard this message several times today.." The glenn st tower is hot!" followed up by " The glenn st tower is normal." Seems like it couldnt make up its mind. And talk about etiquette, walked all over everbody. Anybody care to explain. Oh and this is a Cayce site. Rick

A "Hot Tower" is where the tower is part of the antenna system.
This is most common with AM broadcast towers.

Think of the tower as the driven element of a ground plane with the earth being the ground radials. (Simplistic explanation, leaving lots of room for people to show they know more!) :)
