How do I hook this up??? RS Amplified shortwave antenna

Got a radioshack amplified shortwave antenna CAT. NO. 20-280. off ebay but the seller didn't bother to tell me it didn't come with anything!! No antenna, No cord's, Nothing!!!

Now I need to find out how to hook it up.

On the side it has an ANT Jack which looks like a RCA jack. It also has a Radio jack which looks like a headphone jack. So how do I hook this thing up to my dx300?

Jay, I hope the attached will help. The RS site didn't have an english version of the Owners Manual, so I took the spanish one and ran it through a translator. The results were not the best. :?

What bothers me is that there is no reference to an Antenna Jack, only an internal antenna.

I use the RS Amplified Antenna on a DX390 shortwave radio.There is a jack that is green in color where the mini cable plug end goes into. Did you get the mini cable?

Thats the prob. I never got the mini cable or anything else for that matter from the guy on ebay who sold it to me. Not even the antenna. Just the unit.

RADIO Jack              Connect the supplied mini-cable to this jack, then
                        connect the mini-cable to the short-wave (SW) radio

I dont have a mini connector though

That's the thing about buying something sight unseen like that.You do not
know what you are actually getting.I prefer to deal with people I know and
then I can look at the item and try it out first. With someone you know you
can usually take it back if it does not work.

Jay, I am sure that any appropriate sized plug will serve the purpose. You can always make one, the tough part will be how to match it to your radio, not to the antenna (unless your radio has an external antenna connection.)
