I have been offered a Vibroplex brass racer EK1 form a fellow ham. I use a Yaesu FT-710, which can take a keyer, or straight key. The Vibroplex still has it's old built in keyer which needs a obscure batter, and is of an old style circuitry. I was looking through the manual and saw hot the rig sees a keyer, but I' very new, and not sure if it would be possible to bypass the old keyer circuit, and be able to use the 710's built in keyer. Does anyone know if the is possible?

I had the old standard racer vibroplex. They are single pole (dit and dah on 1 pole.) easy to wire to any hi to low CW key input.
Even Iambic keyers can do the same using a pair of diodes. those are 2 pole, 1 for dit, one for dah.
Your manual should show how to wire any type of keyer to the radio.
