Hey Dave,
I have my new HP-2 for a couple weeks now and what a difference! I can pick up all the local stations I could not get with the HP-1. My next step will be an antenna. Thanks for the suggestions.
Ray

For me, one of the most uplifting posts I've ever read on the Forums.

Congrats on the new scanner!

Ray,

Great news! Glad to hear your happy with the new scanner. I think that was the right scanner for this area. The Hp2 has always been a winner for me.

Dave

I just got my HP-2 also, and I am very surprised on how well it performs. I am using it mobile and I would say it is very close to being on par with the 536.

John, didn't you take advantage of the special deal last week on Amazon? I'm now sorry I didn't purchase another one....

Yes I did. It was on my radar to pick one up so I jumped on it. I had been using the HP-1 in my car for about a month, and it performed ok (mounting was an issue with all the other radio's), but the HP-2 really out performs it.

Hi Ray!
Hope you had your Hp2 tuned into the Somerset County Fire Channels, last few days.

I was wondering if he meant the receiver was more sensitive or was he just talking about the fact he could now receive Phase 2?

Both are about the same sensitivity.

The differences are that the HP-2 supports P25 Phase II, has a USB connector, has a charging LED, and is a darker case color.

Thanks, that what i was assuming. Kinda threw me a curve when he stated the Hp2 really outperforms the Hp1. I assume he must be speaking of being able to receive P25 Phase 2 with it.
