To start, I've owned Radio Scanners most of my teen and adult life (I'm 59 yrs young now) and though I don't know everything about them, I do have a decent working knowledge on them.
I currently have a R/S PRO-197 (in good working order and programed), a HP I (which is basically a weather radio now) and a HP II. Recently the HP II has quit receiving Trunk Traffic on the NC VIPER NET, it'll still pick up conventional frequency traffic of simulcast (Trunk) broadcasts for my area, usually Fire & EMS (and weather frequencies) but not much else.
I've tried everything I can think of to fix the issue, I've updated the OP system of the Firmware and the Master HPBD, when that didn't work, I cleared the "user data" and redid the OP system, I even reformatted the SD card and redid the OP system yet again, still nothing.
I know the area agencies I monitor (Alexander, Burk, Caldwell, Catawba, Iredell & State) aren't encrypted because they come in crystal clear on my PRO-197. Any ideas/suggestions would help.

Thanks
ffvk

It sounds like you may have a Service type turned off in the menu, that's preventing you from hearing your trunked systems. Hit menu and third up on the left you'll see Service types. Check those.

Do you have separate profiles for the HP1 and HP2? Does the scanner appear to be scanning the trunked system with no audio or is it not scanning at all? Are you scanning from the database or do you have a favorites list? Are Download and Monitor both on for the favorites list when you Write to Scanner? If a favorites list, please attach your file so we can take a look at it. Go to the File tab in Sentinel and click on Export to hpe file. You will need to zip the exported file to be able to attach it. Click on Attach files and open the zipped file.

My HP 1 has been packed away since relocating from IA to NC two yrs ago. As for the HP 2, it is scanning services selected i.e. fire, ems, law and multi-dsptch, tac & tlk. It was picking up Monday on Catwaba Co/Hickory Cty/Hwy Ptrl, I went into Lincoln Co/Lincolnton Cty and I switched over from one to the other and adjusted for appropriate zip codes and that's when it started getting wonky, the NC Viper net (trunked sys), which most NC Counties & Hwy Ptrl work under, started getting sketchy on their broadcasts. It wasn't until I was back home I discovered the issue. I could hear Catwaba SO/ Fire/ EMS kicking off on my PRO-197, yet the HP was quiet (even locked on Viper/Catwaba/SO), only time they mirrored each other was when the HP picked up on Fire/EMS on the conventional Co simulcast. As indicated on original post, I've reformatted the SD cards cleared the "user data" and rerun the sentinel op system of the Firmware and Master HPBD.
Nothing I haven't done before when I've had corrupt SD card. I'm at a loss.

The antenna icon on flashed 5 bars when it said Utah Communications Agency at the top but the 2 windows below just kept circling like it was loading and displayed nothing. Our area just went to 700MHZ digital trunking 10/24. for 23 nyears my analog stuff worked great but now i only hear dispatch call out on analog. Can someone help me thank you 73's

Can you tell me what you have turned on in your Service Types menu? It Sounds like you have a service type turned off, Not allowing you to hear that System. Bottom left, touch Menu, 3rd up on the Left, touch Service Types, Tell me which selections are lit up in Orange ??

Idk I returned the HP 2.I'm trying to not get another radio till.I can figure out what i'm doing with this digital stuff. 20k In ham radio gear. And I still have to spend another 700 just to listen to stuff.I've been listening to for twenty three years. I'm a disabled veteran and all I have is time to do and can do is listen to local scanner traffic and my ham radio stuff

Ok, well there's plenty of us here in the forums to help get you on the right track. Ask Any of us, if you have questions. We could have probably helped you with your HP2.
