If you haven't noticed yet today, HRM fire has made some modifications to their talkgroups effective today.

All dispatching is now on the old core dispatch channel (Dispatch-C, 14704). The old rural dispatch channel (Dispatch-R, 6416) is no longer being used. I'm not sure what will become of the old rural ops talkgroups, if they will be abandoned or still used or what. It has been said on another forum (link below) that the old Ops 5-R talkgroup will be dedicated to responses involving Halifax Stanfield International Airport, and the airport fire department.

From my own observations, the simulcasting with the rural pager transmitters is continuing by way of a "patch" between the Dispatch-C and Dispatch-R talkgroups, although it's not a patch in the sense of a Motorola type-II patch. The console is just re-transmitting everything broadcast on Disp-C on Disp-R.

I've made a couple of updates to the RR database. For Dispatch-C and Ops 2-C through 7-C I've removed the core references.
Since we don't know if Ops 2-R through 7-R will be used in the new system I've left them as-is. If anybody actively hears these old rural ops talkgroups or hears what they're called, please submit that information to the database so I can update them.

Did you say you removed Ops 2-C through 7-C or am I reading that wrong?

Core ops TGs are still being used, just looking to clarify

Thanks!
