To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

" Smart Zone Type 2" is the type of the system. i looked around the site and the only codes on here r for programming a scanner not a radio of this type. i ahve a guy that can program it but he said he needs all the info for it first. if anyone could help me out it would be great. my email address is robertanderosnjr86@gmail.com or my cell # 732-766-1851

Not all Jedi series radios do trunking . The HT1000 are analog non trunking basic 16 fr radios.

Ht1000 wont do trunking
Don't know any other way to say it.

The HT/JT1000 can be programmed for and will receive the frequencies involved in analog UHF trunking, but there is no provision in the firmware or software to program anything remotely resembling trunking parameters or trunking talkgroups or trunking system protocols.

There are Jedi series radios that will do analog trunking, but the HT/JT1000 radios are not trunking radios, and no, they can't be converted.

That radio will not work. You need to get a Trunking radio, such as the MTS2000.

I have a MTX2000, which if I'm not mistaken, will do Trunking, PM me if you are interested. The MTX2000 is still a part of the Jedi series so your batteries and accessories will still work.

Apparently you don't get what's been said. What part of "the HT/JT1000 radios cannot be programmed to do trunking" do you not understand?

Bottom line:
(1) The HT1000 is a conventional analog radio, it is NOT a trunking radio.
(2) The HT1000 has no firmware capable of being programmed to perform trunked radio functions.
(3) There is no software on this planet that can program an HT1000 "to work with" a trunked radio system.
(4) You want trunking from a Jedi series, you need a Jedi that is a trunking version, not a conventional version.
(5) If you do get a trunking version of a Jedi, you will have to get permission from the system administrator to allow the radio to be programmed for the system.
(6) Unless you get a "free pass" from the system administrator, you will likely have to pay a subscriber fee to the system for a radio you own.

Deduction: The HT1000 won't work for you and you're not likely to be issued a "free pass" or get permission to program a non-system-owned radio, but if you really have good intentions and legal reasons for pursuing the issue, there's no reason not to continue.
