I've recently switched to a new receiver I have for my feed and now when it's plugged in to the computer there is a low hum coming from the computer speakers (FYI this is the speakers from a computer that is monitoring the feed). This hum is there at all times even when the scanner is not receiving. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Thanks

What you need to look for is a ground loop isolater. These can be found in many flavors. Just make sure you find one that will work with the connections you have,

I used this one. 20 dollars and works great.

PAC SNI-1/3.5 Noise Filter Helps eliminate ground loop noise from your portable music player! (3.5mm plugs) at Crutchfield.com

No need to ground anything just insert the filter inline with the audio, Problems are then solved.

Let me know if you need more help.

I ordered one of these, I hope it works for my Rat shack scanner that i use to feed scanamerica feed. I have a slight hum i want to get rid of
