• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Anyone happen to know where to find the Android Hytool app for the HP series?

All I find on Google play is the S1 Pro app.

I do have a version of it (1.0.06.011.1) and it has an update feature. . . but that isn't working.

I understand that the current version is something in the 4.x range. Have also emailed a supplier but havent had anything back yet.

Anyone know anything? Cheers!

Thanks but The HyRadio one seems to be the same S1pro one and not for the HPs.

I have the 1.0.06.10.1 apk but not the new one (which is referenced in this table)

So, I have got the original version 1 installed on an old phone and I can read and write to both HP605s and HP685s. Its clunky and the update tool is still failing with a "check update failed" but at least it is sort of working with V3 radios.

It does exist and my dealer did eventually manage to get it. It direct programs things like BP565BT and HP6xxG. Not as full featured as the S1 Pro App but it works. Press PTT and side button on the radio and it enters a BT programming mode. Does seem to have a bug with read/write passwords in that the app only accepts numbers not letters.
It works kinda yes. Can blow in any config you like but there is only so much editing of a config that can be done in the app. So can swap a radio between two configs fine, or make simple amendments but not detailed settings. Hytool will take configs from the CPS. It does not require MDM.

You are right. it does exist. Seems Hytera is hiding a lot of things to dealers. 😅

Curious, how do you have it working with a 780, did this get added in recent firmware? In my tool the only supported 7 series is HP79Ex and my hp785G doesn’t go into BT programming mode(3.2.20.008 firmware). On all the other radios I hold ptt and a side button for 3 secs to enter BT programming mode. This doesn’t exist on the 785 and cps doesn’t have the control to enable BT programming (as it does on a HP685)

My HP780 is a special version (I guess?) from China that can support both PDT and DMR (NVOC and AMBE). and the firmware is quite old (2.5 something). But i believe all HP780 from China will support this App. Let me ask my friends to confirm.

You need to enable it in the cps first. Software control.

I am aware of this, I have it working on HP6xx. I don't have that option in the cps for the 785 (unless Its moved somewhere odd?!). It is a 785G BTW

Its called 'Wireless Connect' on the HP685 and its In Common/Setting

Control does not exist on HP785, at least on my CPS
