as with most repeaters, there is not much rag chewing except at drive time. 7am to 8:30 am and about 4pm to 6:30pm. There is a monday net on 146.67 at 7:30pm. There is a net on 145.490 tone 141.3, St. Charles Cty ARES. On thursday, at 8pM 145.330 a Rapid Response net, this is the Troop C RRT. here in the st louis area. 146.940 clayton is active. here in st charles county we have 145.330, with remote receivers near Union station St. Louis, St. Charles and Warrenton, Mo, This will give you range from Scott Afb, on the Illinois side to almost Kingdom City, in Mo. From the Truxton Flying J, 145.330, 147.330 at Warrenton and 147.24 tone 141.3 at Washington, Mo. West of this you are getting into Columbia, mo 146.76 with a tone of 127.3. Gets sparse until you get into the KC area. If you happen to hit the area during bad wx, 145.330 is monitored by the WX Buro and there is alot of traffic. You can keep up on the bad weather. I used to fly for a living and frankly had more contacts on 146.520. Flew to Memphis, New Orleans, Denver, Texas, just on repeaters people were reluctant to talk to strangers or as a stranger I had little to talk about on some net. On 52, some tropo DX sometimes was happening. For "noise" in the car, I ran a scanner to listen to the state while I traveled the roads.
