I had a subscription quite a while ago, to a locally run video rental store. I had (Many years ago) bought the 1 year subscription (less expensive per rental) for any and all rentals including the newest releases. After renewing & paying for the next year, the store closed. Since it was close to my location I passed by continually. Finding the owners son (who took over years before), he apologized (knew his dad for many years and knew him also, personally), he said my only choice was to pull a few disks from stock (even though I had purchased used new releases with double credit selections (for newer releases already 'purchased' with the prepayment) which I was waiting for, and lost. Bit the bullet, took what he offered since there was no way I would get anything else. And put a period at the end of the sentence (settled).
Moral of the story, IF WHISTLER is misleading (by any type of omission) their customers/base by trying to salvage a busted future, then I believe they should MAN UP. The little they might gain in $ (if true any corporate problem) made by stretching any inevitable outcome to buyers expecting any future warranty or support, that reflects a dismal process that damages Whistler name. Nothing justifies stretching this out if the boat is almost sunk, especially if people are relying on the company.
I would be happy, extremely happy, if my feelings dealing with this ongoing issue is wrong based on the lack of information from the parties responsible to reply to these issues (here in the forum), to date. However even though this entire post is based on just a bad feeling (not at all an accusation of wrongdoing or omission), their is widespread speculative/negative discussion here in this forum which cannot be helpful given no response from 'Whistler' to date (that I know of from this posting time and date).
So Whistler, what are YOUR facts to date? No matter what is going on, your the lack of up-to-date information doesn't help, you may be better off being forthcoming, before anyone invests $ with Whistler, onward. I sincerely ask your candid reply/response.
