Congratulations! Now I understand why you weren't at last night's LCARC meeting in Crown Point...

Come to next month's meeting and enjoy a free year's membership in the club!

Try to make the Field Day Exercise held behind the Lake County Health Department in Crown Point. We will be operating there on all bands for most of the day.

. Eh, Not for all of us lol. Antennas needed are too big, requires too much Rf & too much noise. I guess that all depends on your preferences. 73, n9zas

You are right, it may not be for everyone, I just tossed it out there along with my opinion on it. Nothing wrong with stopping at Tech and being happy with that. If you get on the air and have fun that is all that matters. :)

Congrats on passing the Technician Class license!!! Now you are well on your way to a lifetime hobby of Amateur Radio. Sounds like you are already connected to a club so that's good. Let us know what other questions you may have. Let's hope that you get your new callsign in the not too distant future, Again congrats!

Congratulations! Just wait for the call and have a blast. Try and find yourself a decent HT, unless you have the means to set up a base station. HTs help get your feet wet, you can hit some local repeaters and start understanding etiquette.
