Id just use SDR if I were you. The Pro-164 isn't the easiest to do it appears. What are you needing unfiltered for?

Agreed. Depending on what you are trying to do. getting an el-cheapo RTL-SDR might be a better solution. Mike
Having a TP even without a post makes it easier than some to gain discriminator point access.
Carefully soldering a wire & resistor to a marked TP point (albeit a surface trace) and securing it like you need to do with the -164 is loads easier than some which requires attempting to solder on to the attached leg of a chip and then removing/replacing components like you would with a BCXLT180/280 (if you were also attempting to use the factory output due to not wanting to drill a hole in the side of your unit).
If the OP has a unit already, and the basic tools required, he could probably do what @frazpo linked to in his post.

its pretty simple. I did a pro 164 and 97 and both the same for the exception of the TP4 tip.
