Hi. Looking for the "best and safest place" to purchase the above items. I have seen cables on ebay, but am afraid of getting taken again. I have vista on my computer so that is an issue also.

It seems many wlll work.. The cable I use on my 2200H is the same 9-pin Serial to stereo plug one that I use on my VX2R, PRO95, PRO93, and even my Wife's old Blood-Glucose meter!

Don't have a serial port on my computer. Just USB's. The antenna farm site has it for 50 bucks. RTsystems has the software but they do not have the usb plug cable, just serial port. Has anyone had any dealings with the antenna farm site?

Yeah I ordered from the Antenna Farm a few weeks ago to get a CD and cable for my ID-800H. It took like a week for them to ship it after I placed my order online. And then I get the envelope in the mail and the cable is all fine and everything but the software was burned onto a RECORDABLE CD. The serial number and everything was on a text file on the CD. It seemed like some guy was just copying the software and burning the program onto the recordable CD. Could be why the website says "Note: You are buying the cable and we are GIVING you the software." Maybe they have some sort of agreement with Icom, but I EXTREMELY doubt it. The software worked, but man is the deal shady.
Thanks for the info. I will try to find another source but will use them as a last resort. don't want to get burned again.

Believe it or not the most of the Ebay cables are fine. I have bought several. I recently bought a aftermarket OPC-589 cable to convert a Icom SM-6 microphone 8 pin round plug to a 8 pin modular plug for an Icom 207 H and it works great. It came from China. Read the review of the sellars to judge whether or not you should trust the seller.
Thanks. I have purchased a few things off Ebay and have had no problems. I read somewhere that the software that programs the 2200 will also work on my IC T2A. When I ask about it some of them say no and others I have talked to said it will work.
