Hi gang. No questions, I reckon this is a review.

I have two 746's and they double as an awesome VHF scanner. True it is limited to 30~60 mhz & 108~174 mhz on the VHF side. Full HF coverage.

Has 100 channels
Do the mod and you're also transmitting 108~174
Triple conversion so almost no intermod
20db preamp
Attenuator
All modes AM,FM,SSB, CW
DSP Noise Reduction
Notch Filter
Fast scanning rate
Scanning channel lockouts (scan only the memory ch's you want)
Band Scope

All the local public safety and most business stuff is all on VHF around here so I get to hear all this action right off of my ham rig. Cool !

The radio has a 20 DB preamp?? I need one. lol The DSP Noise Reduction sounds useful too.

Thanks for sharing the information. The reception of 25-60 MHz must be awsome. I use my Kenwood TS-440 to listen to CB radio.
