To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

In tell I get it to work two separate antennas that are 12ft apart. I read somewhere I have to solder an F pad in but the instructions I have now don’t say that

NMO's installed, while-u-wait.

That's likely not enough isolation between the antennas to do you any good. Transmit RF is getting back into the RX side and will keep the radio transmitting. It's possible that you can even overload the receiver and damage it.

To do this correctly, you need a properly tuned set of duplexers. Trying to booger together a repeater without them is going to be a headache.

Ok this is a stupid question
I hooked up RX to my antenna, 30feet up in the air the tx Antenna I put in the metal freezer to help block RF. Still doing the same thing when I key up won’t stop transmitting static. I’m assuming I have to buy the duplexer to verify this works? Every test I’ve done I’ve only let it transmit for maybe 15 seconds.
