Hi guys

I got an IC-F40GT Icom on eBay. Seller told me he set it up for field programming. Doesn't feel like sharing how w\ me. Anyone here know how?

You can only field program the CTCSS tones (AFAIK). Everything else is computer programmed. I have both an F30GT and F40GT, so I'll double check tonight, but I was surprised how little field programming could be done.

One of the front panel buttons can be set to change some parameters, but not the frequency. I think that the PL is one of them. I have two low UHF(400-430) versions of the F40GS that I plan to mod up to the 440-450 band. Its going to take about 8 chip caps swaps to get it up there according to the manual. I have tested the radios in the 420-430 ham band to make sure they work. Because of the freq range, I got mine for about $60.00 each.
