This firmware is for the USA version that has a serial number beginning with "16".

Changes in this version

Remote control operation with RS-R30I.
Automatic backlighting is improved.
Some restrictions of program scan edge settings are eliminated.
Skip function is improved.
Duplex check function during the memory scan is added.
Duplex scan function is added.
Memory group and group link settings are connected.
Channel UP/DOWN is available across channel groups in the Memory mode.
Bluetooth® SCO Link can be automatically disconnected when there is no audio.
Volume of a Bluetooth® headset and the IC-R30 can be separately set.
Battery condition information is added.
The record file management system is improved.

To update the firmware

Thoroughly read Section 2 microSD CARD and Section 9 UPDATING THE FIRMWARE in the ADVANCED MANUAL, and follow the instructions displayed on the IC-R30.
BE SURE to make a backup copy of your data settings before updating the firmware.
The firmware will be updated to the following versions.
CPU to Version 1.10
DSP to Version 1.03

When I updated my R30 it completely reset. So make sure you save CSVs of all your memory, scan edges, and GPS data.

Where did you get that? I have had it on backorder for months.

HRO had some in stock, but it looks like its gone. Really wish Icom would just let the dealers sell the keys and put it online for download.

So do you like the software? Have used ARC30 or RT Systems for comparision?

Haven't used other software. CS-R30 is very simple and straight forward. However, you can't edit multiple channels at once. If you wanted to change multiple channels from AM to FM, you'd have to do it one by one. It's probably too simple for the price tag. The other software options look like a better value.

Thanks ICOM for removing the scan edge limitations. It was driving me crazy having to re-set the mode every time I searched the USA UHF aviation band. Also I really like the DUP frequency check function.

It appears ARC30 is not currently working with firmware version 1.10. I tried to copy data from the scanner into ARC30 to have a play with it but it's not working. The software does appear to be receiving any data from the scanner.

Ok it looks like the firmware update resets the USB settings. Just follow the instructions in green/blue in the Read/Write window in ARC30 and then it should work again.

Should I upgrade my R-30 to the 1.10 firmware? If so what issues do I need to fix once upgraded?

I've heard that USB connection needs to be restored (so I can use the Butel beta software) and that I will have to reload my files. Anything else? I haven't used the GPS so nothing saved there.

It was operator error. It helps to export the data to the card before you try and export it to the software...
