It worked this time. The SD card was showing in both the Mac F drive and Windows F drive. I made sure I was loading the data file on the Windows drive.

Is anyone having a formatting problem with the Icom IC-9700 SD cards? Mine was working fine to record but now it has the flashing SD Card icon in the SDR display. When I try to format the SD card (I have tried 3 different SanDisk SDHC cards 32GB) and the radio will not format the cards even though I can format them in my desktop computer fine and they read and write fine there. The radio says - "The SD card is not formatted as FAT/FAT32" even though it it formatted in FAT32.

Any ideas? I have sent a message to Icom support yesterday but thought someone here might have a clue.

Do you have a smaller SD card (fewer gigabytes) that you can try?

The card I first put in it when new is a 32GB. Unknown why it stopped working. I have tried a smaller card and then the new Sandisk 32GB card but same result. Won't format in the 9700 but will in my computer. It keeps saying card is not formatted in FAT or FAT32. Thanks. 73 Greg

Try a different card reader on your computer. I recently had one go bad on me, appeared it was working but refused to actually write to the card.

OK I'll try that. I don't know why the card reader on the 9700 just apparently stopped working. No matter what you do it flashes on the display and says the card is not formatted in FAT or FAT32.
