ICAWIN Audio Samples from GRE PSR-800 and Uniden 396XT

Here are brief videos from my listening while in Boise, Idaho on the ICAWIN system.

By my ears, the PSR-800 sounds quite a bit better than the 396XT in my opinion. Let me know what you guys think. I guess it just could be the audio output design... quality of speaker, bass/treble and/or case style.

PS. Each scanner has its most recent firmware update.

Your 396XT sounds just like my 396XT and it does sound more "harsh" with more of the higher frequencies seeming to me to be present. It sounds to me like the PSR-800 audio has been better optimized for the actual frequencies of the human voice. I do notice that some ICAWWIN agencies sound better than others on the 396 - not sure why.

Added: The 396XT still sounds somewhat harsh using some high quality headphones, so it's not just the speaker- it would seem to be the whole audio generation system.
