At work we use Kenwoods which have been beat up pretty good but still seem to work although if we use them heavily we would need to get some newer batteries since they don't last as long.
I bring my own radio since I don't trust any of the work ones and have set it up with the frequency and tones that we use. It is also set to narrow band like the work radios.
What I don't get is that my boss keeps telling me to grab one of works radios since when I'm talking even on his radio when it's set to low volume my voice sounds very loud. Sometimes even unreadable it's so loud he says. Not sure what I could do to fix this. I had previously used my icom 4011 and had this same issue.
