Today I saw on the Gigaparts webpage that Icom has discontinued the 4100A but it is still on the Icom list of products page. Anybody heard anything? (I also sent email to Gigaparts & Icom)

If you're looking to buy one DX Engineering has them in stock.

Ham Radio Outlet has them in stock all over the country.

Not looking to buy. Just curious as to whether my radios are about to join the 'Legacy' list.

Received this earlier today. Guess I'll just wait & see. Icom may be waiting for the sellers to run their stock down a bit. Oh well, just curious.

Hello Steve!

We received word from manufacturer that they were discontinued. We no longer carry that item. Icom may have it active due to the stock they may still have left over. I would recommend speaking with the manufacturer. You are able to reach them at 800-253-1498. Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Pretty standard for most manufacturers to give heads up to distribution channels before they formally announce an item is discontinued. I suspect they will show a replacement at Dayton but I have no inside knowledge of that.

Most of Icom's recent new product announcements have been made at Tokyo Hamfair (usually in late-August or early-September), not at Hamvention.

At this time, Icom, JVC Kenwood, and Yaesu have not confirmed their booth registrations for Hamvention. We can assume they will be there, but it hasn't been confirmed.

Icom has a new single band mobile and basic dual band analog handheld coming out…no mention of the 4100 being discontinued but it wouldn’t surprise me.

Thinking about selling my IC-4100a - it was a great radio but I moved to an area with no D*Star activity. Don't see any new ones for sale, used prices seem pretty good.
