R8500 Icom dc plug

Hi guys I finally got a used Icom 8500 in mint condition. I have all the parts
To make up a dc cable which I am missing and discontinued by Icom

The Icom part number is opc-023c Could anyone tell me which pin on the molex
Conector is positive and negative. Maybe you could post a picture .

Thanks I have the manual but it does not point out pin polarity
As the Icom dc cable is keyed to fit one way .

Page 34 of the owners manual has pin out. Starting from the angled end of connector pin 1 DC to receiver Pin 2 is from dc power jack or internal power supply if equiped on other model receivers and loops to pin 1 if the dummy plug is plugged in other wise external power cord . Pin 3 unused Pin 4 is negative.

Given the scarceness of the rear panel DC plug, I made one from an old hard drive plug. File or carve one end to a "V" - it doesn't have to be perfect, just enough to fit but don't push too hard - the plastic is very brittle by now. Carefully push the 'ears' flat in the molex sockets and pull them out the back. remove the wires from the molex sockets and preserve two. Solder and crimp the two good sockets - push the "ears" back out a little and insert into the top and bottom holes in the plastic bit, red to the "V" end and black into the bottom hole. Rather fuzzy pic attached.
Of course a couple of weeks later one appeared on our auction web site.....

So what happened? I can't see that it's a discontinued item if they are still producing radios that use the same plug.

That 4 pin molex plug is quite common, used to be sold at Radio Shack and is available from most electronics parts distributors. The same plug is used on all current Icom HF radios for the remote HF tuner including the 7300 and 7610. I have a drawer full of old stock Radio Shack versions.

Following up to dkf435's post if you look closely they have a ground symbol on the line connected to pin 4. I agree it's not as clear as it could be.
