Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

ICOM F3262-DS Transmit ID Programming

Hi everyone, I am new to this site and honestly new to ICOM programming. My fire department has ICOM F3262DS portables and ICOM mobiles. We recently had our township switch to our band so we need to add EMA, Township Roads, etc to our radios.

We have the programming software and can read/write to radios. We had one portable loaded with the new channels by our radio maintenance company but we cannot pay to have all of them updated. When I copy the "new channels" and write to another portable, it copies my transmit ID to that radio. I can change the screen ID and that shows correct but every portable shows my ID if I copy it. I had to save each radio as it's own .icf file. Is there an easier way than actually changing the frequencies on each radio? I want to set up a template and just change the ID's.

Any help would be great. Thanks.

papasink,

I've been programming my own icom lmr radios for ham radio and have never seen an option to 'program sequentially' as the Kenwood programming software does.

Unfortunately, I think you will have to continue the process just as you have been doing it. :/
