I'm wondering if anyone has run into this issue, since I can't join up with the 207 Yahoo group (looks like it's been abandoned)...I have this radio in my car, works just fine. However my laptop just went out (looks like it's the disk controller, and it's old, so it's not worth replacing it) and I will likely be getting a netbook.

I've already rescued the RT systems app and data files (works fine on my jump drive, strangely enough), and have the programming cable, but like all old radios of this era, it's a serial interface. I will need a USB-serial cable, but I'm really unsure as to whether any of the good ones (Keyspan, Belkin, etc.) would work since I have no idea about the pinouts on the radio.

I know RT systems has their own cable, but it would be for a 208, so I have no clue if it would work on the 207, which is its older brother.

Anyone? 73 Mike

I have had good luck with the Keyspan adaptor, programing a variety of diferent radios and other aplication requiring a serial port, both with Vista and W7. When you install the adaptor always use the same physical USB port, if you use it on another port it will try to install the serial port on a diferent comm port.
