Need a little help, I have my PCR-2500 on my server in another room in my house. I remote in via LAN to that server from my main PC by Desktop Remote. I can operate the PCR-2500 completely, but the audio is not audible on my main PC. The audio is on the PCR-2500 speaker.
I have tried everything, all of my other radios on the server have the audio coming to my main PC. Does anyone have a workaround? The only device when using Desktop Remote is "remote audio" on the server.

How are all those other radios audio connected and transferred? From the 2500 you can use either digital USB audio or connect a cable from the speaker jack to some audio input device on the server. If remote desktop can't handle any of those two options you might instead try a remote USB application. Have you checked what a VNC application can do when it comes to USB and analog audio?

Then something is wrong. The schematics for 1500/2500 show that the internal speaker gets disconnected whenever you plug in an external speaker. Maybe you are using the unsquelched low level output? But using USB audio will still have the internal speaker active, it's independent of the USB audio volume and its settings.

How are the other working radios audio connected to the server? Do you have a mini USB soundcard to each one of them?

I thought I had seen this same issue before and I have now found some time to check it out...

I think what you are missing a setting.
Click on the "audio" settings of the PCR2500 software:

Then make sure you select "mute" on the receiver (to stop the audio from coming out of the PCR2500s built in speaker) and then select "PC" and make sure both the main and the sub are not muted.
This will deliver the PCR2500s audio over the USB audio driver.

One more thing the check (and another problem that I had) was that I initially only got audio from the main receiver.
It turned out that Windows incorrectly configured the PCR2500 USB audio driver as a "1 channel - mono source"

This is fixed by going into Windows "Sound" settings, going to the "Recording" tab, and going into the "Properties" of the 2500s "USB Audio CODEC".
Select the "Advanced" tab and set the "Default Format" to "2 channel, 16 bit, 48000 Hz (DVD Quality)"

Once this is all set up, I think you should be able to do what you are hoping to do....
Good luck!

bagmouse7,
Happy New Year and thank you for the instructions. I tried that previously but it does not work when you use desktop remote (windows), which I do. The only audio driver available is "remote audio" and the PCR just reverts back to "radio speaker". I run most of my servers and PC's either "headless" or Windows Desktop Remote.
Thanks agin for the advice.

You might try NoMachine instead of Windows Remote Desktop. I've found the audio on NoMachine cooperates better.
